I've seen some incredible stories thanks to my devotion to documentaries but only Searching For Sugar Man had the shock value of Three Identical Strangers.
This is the story of Eddy Galland, David Kellman and Robert Shafran who were separated shortly after being born and placed in adoptive families.
Neither the new parents nor the children had been aware that they were part of a trio until Robert turned up at the same college in which Eddy had been studying.
The subsequent newspaper story was shown to David who immediately contacted the young men who transpired to be his brothers.
However, that is just a small part of the astonishing tale which is told in Tim Wardle's movie.
He combines current interviews of those associated with the boys and others who have researched what happened to them.
There is also footage of them growing up apart and when they were reunited and lived and worked together.
At barely more than five-minute intervals, there is a gasp-out-loud moment, inspired occasionally by joy but, mostly, by shock.
However, Mrs W had watched BBC's The One Show already give much of the story away and that affected her enjoyment.
Consequently, I shall not go down that road - other than to say there is far more to Three Identical Strangers a trio of brothers who found each other after 19 years.
This is also an exploration of their social backgrounds and the juxtaposition of nurture against nature.
How much they found they did or didn't have in common is as fascinating in the wider story which whirled around them.
Often I refer to movies being unmemorable. I doubt that I will ever forget this one.

Reasons to watch: Shattering documentary of an incredible true story
Reasons to avoid: If you already know the ending!

Laughs: A couple of chuckles
Jumps: None
Vomit: None
Nudity: None
Overall rating: 9/10

Director quote - Tim Wardle: "What I would say we’re doing is acknowledging that this ‘nature vs. nurture’ question is a fascinating one, a universal one that has been around for a long time, and will continue to be. And I think that the triplets were happy for me to explore that. I will say that I don’t think they themselves are that interested in it; they’re more interested in the injustices that were done to them."

The big question - How would you react if you found, out of the blue, that you had siblings?
