BBFC advice: Contains suicide references, mild drug references, innuendo

Robin Williams was a comedian and an actor who demanded an audience.
Whether he was appearing in stand-up, in a straight role, on a chat show, or was the voice on a cartoon character, his charisma overflowed.
He really was a Hollywood favourite and it was a very sad day when he died in August 2014 at the age of 63.
It was a double gut-punch when it was reported that he had committed suicide, probably because of depression.
Why would a man who seemed to have a thirst for life kill himself? Hurtfully, it was also suggested that his drug and alcohol dependencies re-emerged or even that he was in financial trouble.
It is almost a relief to know that none of the above was true but even more shocking to learn that he was suffering the cruellest and most aggressive form of dementia.
Sadly, Williams didn't realise that he had a disease which would have accounted for him forgetting his lines, hallucinating, suffering paranoia and insomnia among other terrifying symptoms.
As Tylor Norwood's documentary Robin's Wish reveals, he knew he had Parkinson's Disease and had been trying his best to hide the tremor in his hand.
However, only his closest friends and family knew how much his health had been failing but understandably chose to keep this confidential when he died.
Unfortunately, this allowed the media to come up with a host of incorrect theories.
His wife Susan Schneider Williams sets the record straight during this film as do medics and the aforementioned friends and neighbours.
They tell of a genius who had a great passion for life but became a different person because he was desperately ill.
Robin's Wish touches on Williams' career and his generosity but it mainly addresses his death and how, if he had not been such an intellect, dementia would have killed him before it did.
It is a very sad account of his demise but I am grateful that I now know the truth.

The final word. Tylor Norwood: "But the call to action is that you have the opportunity to play a role in taking some dirt off of Robin Williams’s legacy — dirt that was never supposed to be there. There’s an opportunity to do something positive towards the legacy of someone I deeply respect and honestly care for. " LA Screenwriter
